Small Step Boogie-Woogie: An Operational Semantics for the Piet Language
Piet is a visual programming language, created by David Morgan-Mar. Information on it can be found here.
My dissertation involved creating an operational semantics for the language and a reference interpreter. The paper, Small Step Boogie-Woogie: An Operational Semantics for the Piet Language, is the result. The repository, on Gitlab, can be found here.
Weather
A small online weather forecasting page for any location across the world. Written in HTML/JS.

projects

that are ongoing

Glasgow Subway PID
The Glasgow Subway is Scotland's only underground system. It is run by SPT.
The Glasgow Subway has been undergoing a modernisation since around 2010, including refurbished stations, an upgraded signalling system, and new rolling stock. The new rolling stock are the first new trains on the system since the 1970s. They include Passenger Information Display (PID) screens. At the moment, these screens are not used to their full potential, displaying only minimal information.
This project is to create a "lightweight" JS/HTML implementation that could be used on the trains.

Currently not responsive so it may not look at all good on many devices.
Click or press Enter to make the PID change!
Nines
How many games can you play with nine squares?
Nines tries to play with form and create games that use the restrictive form in different ways, to varying levels of success. The games provide no instructions.

dormant

projects that I might come back to

Marseille
Marseille is a programming language that aims to be as close to French as possible.
Countdown Computer Players
The British game show Countdown contains two rounds: the letters round, and the numbers round. In the letters round, players need to find the longest word from nine random letters. This project tries to create potential computer players for the letters round, and comparing them to each other.
